The Gulf Society for Maintenance and Reliability Convenes General Assembly and Reviews Key Achievements and Future Initiatives
The Gulf Society for Maintenance and Reliability (GSMR) held its General Assembly Meeting on Saturday, February 7, 2026, with the attendance of its esteemed members. The meeting opened with a welcome address by Mr. Ahmed AlJelwah, Chairman of the Board, who highlighted the Society’s most significant accomplishments over the past period.
Mr. Ahmed presented an overview of GSMR’s progress, emphasizing the Society’s impactful work in community service, as well as advancements in training, technology, and professional development. He expressed his sincere appreciation to active members, sponsors, and partners for their continued engagement and support of GSMR’s initiatives.
During the meeting, members ratified the agenda items, reviewed the Board of Directors’ report for the concluded term, and approved the financial report. The appointment of an external auditor was also confirmed.
The Chairman commended the dedication of the Board members and committee leaders, extending his gratitude for their efforts. He emphasized the importance of increasing member participation across various committees to further advance the Society’s mission and strategic goals.
Mr. Ahmed stated: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow Board members. Together, we look forward to continuing our work to ensure the Society fulfills its mission to the highest standards.”
He reaffirmed GSMR’s influential role over the past decade as a regional center for knowledge exchange in maintenance and reliability across the Gulf. Amid global shifts and emerging challenges, he emphasized the growing need to advance technologies in these fields. He noted that GSMR will continue to foster innovation by empowering Gulf based talent and strengthening collaboration with specialized regional and international organizations. This, he said, will enable members to benefit from global best practices and cutting-edge expertise.
Mr. Ahmed also underscored the Society’s commitment to empowering its members and enhancing their contributions to the development of maintenance, reliability, and asset management sectors across the GCC, aligning with the visions and aspirations of GCC leadership.
The Chairman announced: “On behalf of the Gulf Society for Maintenance and Reliability (GSMR), I am pleased to announce that the 8th International Maintenance, Reliability, and Asset Management Conference & Exhibition (Maintcon 2026) will take place from October 12 to 15, 2026, at Exhibition World Bahrain. The event will be held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
In closing, the Chairman extended an open invitation to all professionals in the maintenance, reliability, and asset management sectors to participate in Maintcon 2026. He expressed deep appreciation for the continued support of GSMR’s partners and voiced confidence that the upcoming edition will further strengthen the conference’s strategic role as a leading regional and international platform in the field.
