CERTIFICATION EXAM POLICY
GSMR ensures that its certification exams are administered in a fair, secure, and standardized manner to evaluate candidate competence objectively, in full alignment with ISO/IEC 17024:2012.
This policy outlines the expectations and procedures for candidates participating in GSMR certification assessments.
1. Eligibility
- Candidates must meet all the eligibility criteria specified for the certification scheme before registering for an exam.
- Required documentation (e.g., qualifications, professional experience) must be submitted and approved prior to scheduling.
2. Exam Scheduling and Access
- Exam dates and locations (or virtual access instructions) will be communicated in advance.
- Candidates must bring valid photo identification to the testing venue or proctoring platform.
- Access to the exam is strictly limited to registered candidates.
3. Exam Security and Integrity
To maintain the integrity of the assessment process:
- Candidates must not bring unauthorized materials (e.g., books, notes, electronic devices).
- Any form of cheating, collusion, impersonation, or misconduct will result in immediate disqualification and potential barring from future certification.
- All sessions may be monitored by trained proctors or examiners.
4. Conduct During the Exam
Candidates are expected to:
- Arrive at least 15 minutes early (for in-person exams) or log in on time (for remote assessments).
- Follow all instructions provided by proctors or invigilators.
- Maintain silence and avoid disturbing others during the exam.
- Report any issues (technical or otherwise) to the proctor immediately.
5. Special Accommodations
GSMR is committed to accessibility.
- Candidates requiring reasonable accommodations due to a disability or condition must submit a formal request with supporting documentation during the application phase.
- Accommodations are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
6. Results and Confidentiality
- Exam results are communicated privately and securely within the timeframe defined in the certification scheme.
- Individual scores are confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties without written consent from the candidate.
- Successful candidates will receive official certification documentation; unsuccessful candidates will be informed of retake options.
7. Retake Policy
- Candidates who do not pass the exam may retake it after a waiting period and payment of the applicable retake fee.
- The number of allowed retakes and conditions are outlined in each certification scheme’s handbook.
8. Appeals
- Candidates may submit an appeal if they believe the exam was not administered in accordance with policy or if they dispute the results.
- Appeals must be filed in writing within the specified timeframe (typically 10 business days).
- The process is impartial and reviewed by personnel not involved in the original decision.
